Most businesses or schools (colleges) require a portfolio to show for acceptance and progress.

Above is one of my first digital pieces which was hand drawn in Adobe Photoshop. Now that my style has changed and I've gained two more years of experience I use Adobe Illustrator to draw. Learning new ways of art can change a perspective and can improve your skills to place new pieces in a portfolio.

Why would I ever need my portfolio? Does my style change ways of acceptance? What if my work is too old to be place in it? Where do i even start?
Putting it All Together.
Starting a portfolio came with a lot of personal anxiety for me, while I was continuously asking myself "is this good enough to be in here?". Most people will redo pieces and replace them in portfolios which has benefits. But its all based on intention of wanting to get better at what you do and if you're willing to take the time to sit down and do it. So my suggestion is do what comes naturally to you not someone else.
